How the Academy
handles your information.
Plain answers about what this website collects, why, who can see it, and how long it is kept.
Who we are
Fredson Paixao BJJ LLC, doing business as Fredson Paixao Academy (the “Academy”), operates this website and the Academy at 1481 W Warm Springs Rd Ste 145, Henderson, NV 89014. Questions and requests: fredsonpaixaoacademylv@gmail.com.
What we collect
Free-week requests. The adult contact’s name, email address, and optional phone number; for a participant under 18, the participant’s name, age band, and your relationship to them; the first class you book, your loaner-gi request, and optional experience level; your typed signature, the version of each document you accepted, your optional marketing and photo choices, and the time we received the request.
Shop orders. When you buy from the Academy shop, our payment processor, Stripe, gives us your name, email address, and phone number, the items, sizes, and quantities you ordered, the amounts and sales tax you paid, and when you paid. Your card is entered on Stripe’s own checkout page: card details go directly to Stripe and never reach the Academy or this website. Staff also record when your order is ready and when you pick it up.
Contact messages. Your name, email address, topic, and message. They are delivered by email to the Academy’s inbox and are not stored in the website’s database. To keep out spam, the contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending the message. For that check, Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and connection, and keeps a value in your browser’s local storage, under its Turnstile privacy addendum. Please don’t put health or injury details in a message; share them with the coaches in person.
Free-week follow-up. Academy staff record contact attempts, the first class you are scheduled for, the date you first attend, whether local residency was confirmed (a yes-or-no note only; we do not record your address or ID), and the outcome.
Website analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and learn which pages help people. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device. For each page view it records the page address (we remove anything after a “?”), the referring website, your browser, operating system, and device type, and your approximate location (country, region, and city), which it works out from your network address without keeping that address. It cannot recognize the same visitor from one day to the next, and we cannot use it to identify you. Staff pages are never counted.
Security information. To prevent abuse, the website keeps a one-way keyed hash of your network address with a request count, and with any shop checkout you have open, never the address itself. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for a short time.
We never receive or store payment card details. We do not collect health, injury, date-of-birth, school, or emergency-contact information through this website. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers, and our analytics use no cookies. The only cookies this website sets are for Academy staff sign-in; the cookie policy explains what the website keeps in your browser. The shop keeps your bag in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab and is not sent to us until you check out.
How we use it
- To record your first-class booking, confirm free-week eligibility, and arrange a loaner gi.
- To keep an accurate record of the documents you accepted.
- To follow up during and after your free week, and to answer contact messages.
- To take payment for shop orders, prepare them for pickup, email your receipt and a ready-for-pickup notice, and handle questions and any refunds.
- To keep the website and your information secure, and to meet legal obligations.
- To send occasional Academy news and offers, only if you opt in.
Who we share it with
Service providers store or deliver information for us and may use it only for that purpose: Vercel (website hosting and cookieless analytics), Cloudflare (the contact form’s spam check), Supabase (database), Resend (email delivery), Google (the Academy’s Gmail inbox), and Stripe (payment processing for shop orders; Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy). Staff notices about new free-week bookings include the booked class, the participant’s and adult contact’s names, the contact’s email address and phone number, the participant’s age band, and the loaner-gi and experience answers. Staff notices about new shop orders include the items, the amounts, and the buyer’s name, email address, and phone number. A copy of each goes to ARTWERKS, the company that built and administers this website for the Academy. Contact messages go to the Academy’s inbox, with a copy to ARTWERKS. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell personal information. Nevada residents may still send a request not to sell their covered information to fredsonpaixaoacademylv@gmail.com, and we will confirm it.
Tracking across websites
We do not allow third parties to collect information about your online activities over time or across other websites through this website. Because we do not track you, we treat browser “Do Not Track” signals the same way we treat every visit.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from them. When a parent or legal guardian requests a free week for a child, the parent or guardian provides the child’s name and age band. A parent or guardian can ask to review or delete that information by emailing fredsonpaixaoacademylv@gmail.com.
How long we keep it
- Free-week requests where the participant attends: 3 years after the free week ends. For a participant under 18, until 3 years after the participant turns 18, counted from the youngest age in the selected age band.
- Free-week requests where the participant never attends: deleted 12 months after the request.
- Contact messages: kept in the Academy’s email only as long as needed to respond and for ordinary business records, and no longer than 2 years.
- Shop orders: kept for 7 years after the order for tax and accounting records, then deleted. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its own policy.
- Security hashes: deleted within 30 days.
- Website analytics: page-view statistics are available to us for 12 months. Vercel handles the underlying data under its own privacy policy.
- Marketing choices: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of the unsubscribe so we can honor it.
Deleted information may remain in our database provider’s encrypted backups for up to 7 days.
How we protect it
Information is encrypted in transit. Only authorized Academy staff who sign in with multi-factor authentication can view full free-week requests and shop orders, and the database blocks every other kind of access. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as Nevada law requires.
Your choices
- Ask to review, correct, or delete your information, or for a copy of documents you accepted, by emailing fredsonpaixaoacademylv@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. We may keep signed participation records for the periods above when they are needed to address legal claims.
- Unsubscribe from Academy emails at any time with the link in any email or by emailing us.
- Withdraw photo and video permission, or your consent to electronic records, by emailing us.
Changes to this notice
We will post any change on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects information we already hold, we will also email the people affected when we have their address.
